Smoothie bowls are such an excellent way to get a SERIOUS nutritional punch because not only do you have what is IN your smoothie, but you can then add toppings to it, which add texture but also nutritional benefits. And you can have fun making it look pretty!! Nah you dont have to make it look pretty. But it does add to the experience 😀 This is creamy, sweet and filling; you dont taste the spirulina at all, but you get all the benefits.

Spirulina is incredible people. Invest in it! The benefits are so amazing that taken on a daily basis they could restore and revitalize your health! To date, there are nearly 1,200 peer-reviewed scientific articles evaluating its health benefits, just Google it. Summed up, it is 60% protein and an excellent source of vitamins A, K1, K2, B12 and iron, manganese and chromium. It has 2800% more beta-carotene than carrots and 3900% more iron than spinach! Top the smoothie with whatever you think works – i love granola, kiwi, berries and sliced coconut 😍

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 frozen medium bananas
  • 3 tbsp. frozen cubed mango
  • 1 tsp. spirulina powder
  • 1 tbsp. ground flax seed
  • 1 date (pit removed)
  • 2 tbsp. dessicated coconut
  • 3/4 c plant-based milk

Instructions

  1. Put everything in a blender and blend. Add more water if its too thick or an ice cube if its too thin!
  2. Top the bowl with whatever tickles your fancy. The garnish is a good opportunity to pack in more antioxidants & texture, so think goji berries, nuts, kiwi, seeds etc.!
